Enjoy a New Zealand farm experience like no other with our Hawke’s Bay farm tour in the Tukituki catchment.
Join your hosts for the day, where you’ll learn about their rural backgrounds, where your food comes from and how farmers are challenging the norm with innovative farming practices. Naturally, there will be plenty of opportunities to hang out with the animals too. Specifically for small groups, this is very a personal insight into the rural New Zealand way of life.
After departing Napier, you’ll head south through rural Havelock North to Tukituki Dairy Goats to meet and pet the goats that are producing milk for the changing dairy industry. After the chance to sample some goat milk straight from the vat, the tour continues through the farm to the shearing shed.
Once in the shed, you’ll enjoy morning tea while watching a sheep shearing demonstration and learn about how our natural fiber is produced. You’ll then witness a real kiwi working dog demonstration from Sean and his Huntaways and Heading dogs.
Roughly 4 hours from 8:30am.
